Guess what? Today, I went to a friend’s farm. There were all kinds of animals there and I will tell you about all of them when I can but first, I have to tell you something that is way cool! When we got to the farm, there were chickens and roosters and ginnie hens, whatever they are… and lots of other animals. When my friend started to feed the animals, tons of hens ran over to him. I noticed that there was one hen that looked very different from the others. I looked at her and for a moment felt sad because she had a different kind of curly feathers and was sort of splotchy! I worried that the others might make fun of her. My friend noticed that my mom and I were looking at that hen. He asked very proudly, “Isn’t she pretty?” My mom asked, “Is she OK?” He said, “Oh yes. She is very special, I paid a lot of money for her. She is a purebred.” I forget what he called her but here’s the cool part: more and more, everyone is learning that being different is very special and valuable and very awesome! How cool is that? Way cool, I think! Don’t you agree?
