I want to tell you about a new hero of mine. He is 16 year old boy from Germany. His name is Dustin and he has a brain tumor and is in a coma. He had a heart transplant about three months ago. He is way cool ‘cuz he has great talent with music and art and words. Plus, he says way cool things. I wish I could be more like Dustin. I try to be but sometimes, I’m not as strong as he is but that’s okay ‘cuz what’s important is that I try. How about you? Do you try to be strong when things go wrong? I hope you do because that’s what makes things get better.
I want to tell you a few of the things that Dustin has said. I think you will agree that he is a hero when you read or hear his words.
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
“Art is the teamwork between God and yourself…where you should take a back seat.”
“You can never solve a problem on the level which it was created.”
“If someone you love has left, there is an opened door that has to get closed. If you don’t close it, it will get cold and you will start freezing.”
“This is life. If one door is closing, another will open. The big tragedy is that we watch out for the closed one…not for the open one.”
“If you ask yourself what is more precious…knowledge or imagination? It is definitely imagination because knowledge is limited.”
