Communication: The Key

Do you ever have a hard time explaining how you feel or do you know someone who does? Well, I can tell you how frustrating that is and I know all about it. Do you know how I know? Well, I’ll tell you. It’s ‘cuz I talk bark and a lot of people don’t understand bark.

Here’s the thing. If you are with someone who you don’t understand or who doesn’t understand you, don’t yell. Yelling doesn’t help them understand. In fact, it makes the situation worse. Also talking very slowly doesn’t usually work either.

The best thing to do, I think, is to look into their eyes. Look at the expression on their face. Try to see what they are looking at, pointing to or holding. That will give you a big clue.

It will make them feel great if they know you are trying to communicate with them. Trying is everything and it means the world to those of us who have a different way of communicating.
