How Big Are Your Children?

The mom of a boy contacted us and told us that her son had been sad for a long time because he wasn’t good at sports. She told us that he had told her, ” I always strike out. I have never kicked a goal and I’m not allowed to play football.”

She said that he told her that, The “Tail” of Rugby Jones had given him a good feeling. She said that he told her that after he finished chapter ten, he wanted to write to us. She mailed two pictures that her son had drawn. One was a picture that he had drawn a year ago and one was one that he had drawn of after he read the book.

The difference brought tears to our eyes because the first one showed a boy who was tiny in comparison to his brother, who happened to be a football player.

The second one was of two boys who were the same size. One was holding a football and the other was holding The “Tail” of Rugby Jones.

It’s all about self esteem and how you feel about your place in the world. Yup!
