Kids walking
My mom and I got a chance to watch a line of kids walking yesterday. It was very interesting because each and every one of the kids told the story about how they see themselves and how they feel about themselves. These are a few examples of what we noticed:
-One girl, who was taller than the other kids, kept looking around her as if to see if the other kids were looking at her.
-One boy walked sort of slumped over.
-One boy who was overweight kept pulling at his shirt and looked very uneasy.
-One girl walked with her shoulders down and looked at the ground as she walked.
-Some of the kids stood up straight and walked confidently. They were all different sizes, shapes and colors.
Just by watching this group of kids walking, we could guess which ones would be the targets of bullies.
Parents, this is so important so please watch your kids walk with a group of kids. Explain to them that the way they carry themselves is so important all through life.
