Are Video Games Bullying Your Child?

Are video games bullying you and your children with their appeal? Is your child a victim of technology? Are you frustrated and concerned because you don’t know what you can do to get your child to go outside and play or play sports?

You aren’t alone. We actually have heard that parents are referring to video games as babysitters because they feel like their children are safe and sound if they are interacting with a video game.

Here is the reality: If you allow yourself to be bullied into allowing this “techno-behavior,” your child is not safe or sound! Studies have shown that kids who spend a lot of time watching TV and playing video games have doubled the risk of having attention problems.

Add to that the fact that kids who are only moving their thumbs for exercise are more likely to be overweight. Too often these kids can suffer from hypertension. Here is the clincher, kids who are overweight are often the targets of school bullies.

It’s your choice parents. Protect your kids by cutting the time they are allowed to be sitting in front of a screen any screen.
