Troublesome Bullying?

Senator Williams said something that demonstrates part of the issue with the pandemic of suicides. He stated, ” Cyberbullying, as online or electronic bullying is called, is just as troublesome as physical bullying.”

Just as troublesome? How many kids who were physically bullied committed suicide? The problem is far greater because digital abuse might be likened to water torture which actually caused the victims to lose the ability to be rational regarding the possibility of escaping their situation.

Add to that, The Bystander Effect: the more people who witness or take part in bullying, the lower the percentage of people who will take action to help the victim.

The laws that have been written to help the bullying situations have failed because they are written with the purpose of protecting the schools from lawsuits. They do nothing to help the bullying issue in schools because they are too complicated to understand or enforce.

We all know that stealing is wrong but how many of us have read or understand the statues that pertain to stealing?

Every religion and government cites some form of  The Golden Rule. Why is it so difficult to adapt that as a basis for ending bullying?
