What do you think about the world you live in, not the whole world just your world? Do you like the people at your school or work? Do you like your boss or your teachers? What about your parents, kids, siblings or your spouse?
I’m not asking about love, I’m asking about like.
Do you get home or get to school or get to work looking forward to the day or do you arrive with either a chip in your shoulder or a negative attitude about what will happen when you get there? Do you mope around or have a poor me attitude?
If your answers to these questions are negative, then it’s up to you to make a change within yourself to gain happiness and self worth as you live your days in a world you like.
You can create a world around you that is positive. It’s kind of like going on a diet. If you decide you try to lose 20 pounds in a week, you will fail. But if you try to lose 2 pounds in a week, you just might succeed.
It’s all about taking baby steps to make a change in your world. If you try each day to do three things to improve your world every day, you will change your world a little at a time.
It might be as simple as smiling. It could be a random act of kindness that you keep secret. It could be forgiving someone. It could be making a donation or telling someone thank you.
Really, it’s as simple as that because then your positive actions, your kindness, your smiling and your giving will become habits and you will begin to like living in your world. It’s just like Abraham Lincoln said, “People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
