It’s About Heart

What better post on Valentine’s Day than a story about someone with heart?

What an exciting afternoon we had yesterday. In an attempt to help people to be open to the idea of adopting special needs animals, we visited the Animal Friends of Lansdowne.

We invited another canine hero to join us and join he did.

Petey was in a car accident a while back and now gets around in a wheelchair just like Rugby Jones.

Petey arrived for our presentation. His human mom and dad strapped him into his cart and off

he went.

For those of you who have never experienced firsthand the “never say never” attitude of an animal on wheels, maybe a picture will be worth the thousand words that we hear about!

Petey came flying in the door and then managed to maneuver around all of the chairs and audi

ence members to check out everything and everyone. He even managed to put his nose in someone’s bag, hoping for a misplaced treat.

If you get down in the dumps about what life has handed you, look at this fellow! Petey is another example of the kind of positive attitude that our hero Rugby Jones has. Animals can teach us so much if we just watch!
