What lessons have you learned from life so far? I’m not talking about lighthearted things like:
- When your mom is in a bad mood, don’t ask her to brush your hair.
- You can’t hide Brussels Sprouts in your milk.
- Raising teenagers is like nailing pudding to a tree.
- People grow old but they don’t necessarily grow up.
- Time is a great healer but not a great beautician.
- Wrinkles only hurt when you look in the mirror.
Seriously, what are some simple things that you taught your children when they were little? I’m talking about things that pertain to adults in their daily lives too.
- Follow the rules.
- Tell the truth.
- Share.
- Don’t hit back.
- Don’t take things that don’t belong to you.
- Be nice.
- Don’t cheat.
- Say thank you.
- Keep your promise.
- Say your prayers.
Following simple rules can make all the difference to everyone in your world. What are yours?
