Parents, please watch your kids closer!

Care Enough to Ask!

So, I know I’m cool. Are you cool? Why are you or aren’t you cool?

Some people say groovy and some say bad. Some say boss, chic, deep, excellent, fabulous, fantastic, far-out, great, hip, neat, nifty, rad, bad, sensational, splendid, super, swell, trendy, unorthodox, way-out, wild or with it.

All these words are kind of like the word confident! I say cool because I am Rugby Jones and I like that word!

The words don’t matter. What does matter are the reasons why you think that you are or you aren’t boss, chic, deep, excellent, fabulous, fantastic, far-out, great, hip, neat, nifty, rad, bad, sensational, splendid, super, swell, trendy, unorthodox, way-out, wild or with it.

Since I am so cool, I am going to help you to be cool too. If you already are cool, then you can help someone else be cool. Okay?

If you or a child you know needs help being cool or confident, you can help by asking questions like these.

Self Esteem Quiz

  • Do you like you? Why or why not?
  • Do others like you? Why or why not?
  • Do others hurt your feelings? How do they hurt your feelings?
  • Are you sad a lot? What makes you sad?
  • Is there anyone who you can talk to about these things?

Did you know that cool and these other words are pretty much the same as confident? Well they are. We need to help others feel confident by helping them to be proud of their differences and gain self-esteem. Anyone who does that can be on my Wall of Heroes!

You will, won’t you?
