Because of teasing-bullying, this boy’s parents decided to home school him.

He has begged his parents to help him lose the weight. His hope is that he will lose the weight and be able to go back to school without being teased.

He just wants to be treated like the other kids.

Our concern is that this young man needs to understand that the kids who called him names may well continue. He needs to watch other kids who are overweight and are not tormented. He needs to see how they react to the bullies because they possess the secret to diffusing the bully’s power.

Remember that bullies will target children who react in a way that bullies find entertaining.

That was then and this is now. As so often happens, history repeats itself.

This time in a different way but the lesson is the same regarding bullies terrorizing children who might be a target.

A family just contacted us about a recent event that left two young sisters, ages 11 and 12 absolutely terrified. Apparently, as they walked home from the first day of school, several kids threatened to shoot them.

These bullies were having target practice against some hay bales near where the girls lived. They had full size bows and arrows and there was no adult supervision present. The three troublemakers raised their bows and drew back the bow strings with the arrows pointed at the girls.

The young girls ran to a friend’s house because they were afraid to try and get past their tormentors for fear of being shot.

Parents please be vigilant when it comes to your children’s activities. You need to protect them from anyone who might use them as target practice.

The frightening part is that parents often don’t have a clue that there is sibling abuse going on in their families.

Just like any abuse, sibling abuse can be physical, emotional or sexual. It can be mild to severe.

Often parents expect fighting and aggression among siblings because that is what society expects. They believe that there should be a pecking order with their children.

What is the difference between sibling rivalry and sibling abuse? If one child is always the victim and one is always the bully, it is sibling abuse.

How do you know if one of your children is abusing another? The same signs that apply to all bullying apply. Parents must be vigilant and be open to the fact that sibling abuse might be going on.

The owner of the missing cat Lola, found her in the dumpster, crying. She had been locked in the trash can for over 15 hours.  Her owner Darryl Mann then checked his surveillance video to find out what happened.

He posted the video on Facebook where people identified this cruel woman.

The woman’s name is Mary Bale and she is quoted as saying, “It was a split-second of madness. I thought it would be funny. Anyway, it’s just a cat.”

Just a cat???

This woman is guilty of cruelty to animals. She is the worst kind of bully because according to her own words, she “thought it would be funny” to cause fear, pain and torment in and to an innocent animal.

If the owners of Lola hadn’t found her, she would have died.

Some people, like Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick - “The Bionic Vet” are trying to help cats and other animals to give them a chance in life by giving them prosthetic limbs like Aimee Mullins uses. Yet people like Mary Bale find cruel bullying to be funny.

Michael Vick went to jail for abusing animals.This woman is just as bad as people who fight dogs and people who victimize others with their bullying.

Now police and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are investigating. What are they investigating? The proof is on the video. There must be consequences for this woman.

So just remember one very important thing. If you want to have more friends, take a very big  dose of “B1.”

They always come through and even we lose contact for a little while, they are always there! Unfollowing is out of the question!

A perfect friend is loyal to you even when he or she doesn’t agree with you.

A perfect friend doesn’t have to be right all the time.

A perfect friend doesn’t ever need to prove you wrong.

A perfect friend is one who  understands your weaknesses, fears, strengths and abilities and stands behind you and with you every step of the way.

A perfect friend is one who is happy when you are happy, strong when you are weak and sad when you are sad.

A perfect friend is one who listens to your innermost thoughts and doesn’t judge you or use your words against you.

A perfect friend is one who stays with you when everyone else leaves.

A perfect friend is one who knows your faults and loves you in spite of them and because of them.

A perfect friend is one who always has your back.

A perfect friend is always there for you even when you don’t ask.

The father said that his very tall, 14 year old daughter cries every night because of the bullying attacks on her. His heart is breaking and he is terrified of what this school year will bring for his only daughter!

We have said this over and over again, there is absolutely no reason for a 14 year old to be on Facebook or any social networking site.

Parents, you can’t assume that any filters will protect your children. You must be proactive. You must be involved. You must oversee! Please download our free bullying manual and take the test…how much do you know about your children’s lives when they are not with you?

Talk to your kids and educate them about bullies. It just might save the life of a child…maybe yours! This is serious. This is dangerous and this is not something that will go away.

Lucy is a four year old dog whose back legs were paralyzed after she was hit by a car as a puppy. Lucy did something amazing. She climbed to the top of Mount Washington in New Hampshire.

In her wheelchair, she actually made it to the top of the highest peak in the Northeastern United States.

She climbed for 7.6 miles and it took six hours.

Her master said about her, “She’s been a lot of fun to have, and she’s given me a lot of fun adventures.”

Lucy is another hero who shows us that life is what you make it.

I _________________ will not be a bully. I will not laugh at anyone who is being  bullied and I will tell others not to laugh either. I will tell a responsible adult about any bullying incident.

If anyone makes me feel sad or afraid, I will report my experience. I will not let anyone do things to me that make me feel sad or cause others to laugh at me.

I will remember that I am very special and should be treated with respect and kindness. I will treat others with respect and kindness too.

While we were shopping, we saw one of the clerks run out to talk to a man in a wheelchair who was looking at the tables. We couldn’t hear what was being said but saw their faces. We could tell that the man was angry. Then, we saw the clerk begin to move some of the display tables.

Right away, we understood that the man couldn’t get by the display tables in his wheelchair and he was angry with the clerk for blocking the sidewalk.

We could hear that clerk telling another clerk about what happened as we checked out. She was saying that she couldn’t believe how angry he was over something so unimportant. We told her that it might not seem important to her but to someone in a wheelchair, being unable to get past barriers like that is very important.

The part that broke our hearts was that she informed us that the man was an ex-soldier who lost the use of his legs in Iraq. He had told the clerk that nobody cares about soldiers who fight for America and then come home disabled.

When we heard that, we went out to try to find the man to tell him how much we appreciate all that he did for us and for our country and to apologize for not noticing that the tables blocked wheelchair access. It was too late. We couldn’t find him. We were unable to do or say anything to help his self esteem or make him feel appreciated.

Please everyone, learn from our mistake. If you notice anything that blocks wheelchair access, take action right away. Anything that blocks wheelchair access is kind of like a bully who won’t let a kid enter through a door. You would stop a bully, right? So take action on barriers that block wheelchair access, okay?

We need to let our soldiers know how much we appreciate what they are doing and what they sacrificed for us and for our country any way we can. Do you have any ideas on how we can get that message out more to our soldiers?
